Now
things I’ve been tending to this week
Calmly Writer
app · Calmly Studio
A way to write that pleases an eye, mind and ear.
You can set it to audibly click like a typewriter—keystroke sounds and a bell for a carriage return. When I use this in a public space,
I’ve got to use headphones, it seems. Evidently I like the sounds so much others hear me typing away without them.
“Tempted”
song · Squeeze
I always enjoyed this song, but I listen differently now
than when I first used to hear it. These days I’m appreciating
the harmonic progression in the lead-up to the chorus.
Plus, the specificity in the lyric (dang).
“beneath the noise and the flame”
a vocal line, dragons and some maple leaves · Marla Beck
a piece that made me happy to write it.
